China Brew China Beverage (CBB) is one of the top and most important international trade shows for the beverage and liquid food industry. In 2016 CBB will premiere at Shanghai New International Expo Centre from October 11 – 14,2016. 1) Steady Demand Growth in Asian-Pacific Region
The beverage and liquid food industry is a highly potential branch in the world economy and is believed to continue its strong growth in the future, especially in China and Southeast Asian countries, like Indonesia and Vietnam.
The VDMA predicts that in the next three years, the beverage industry will maintain an annual growth rate of 4.6%. The population growth along with income increase in the Asian-Pacific region has resulted in a fast growth of the beverage and liquid food production, consumption, as well as import and export. It is now the fastest growing district in the world. In 2014, China produced a total of 75.28 million liters of liquor (fermented alcohol 9.84 million l, beverage liquor 65.44 million l), increasing by 15.82%. Soft drinks production reached 166.77 million tons, up 4.61%. The world is expected to consume 233 billion liters of bottled water in 2015. This is an increase of 63 million liters compared to 2010 (37% increase). China is the most important contributor to such growth. In South-East Asia, Vietnam is leading the market with 8% – 10% growth of liquor, beverage and bottled water production in 2014. Vietnam produced 3.14 billion liters of beer last year, up 8.1%, and 4.05 billion liters of beverage, increasing by 2.7%. The production is expected to grow by 20% from 2015 to 2019.
2) Beverage and Liquid Food Machinery Turns to Smart Manufacturing
The year 2016 is the first year of the “13th Five- Year Plan” in China. Policies to facilitate economy transformation, consumption growth and innovation have been made. Two new concepts, “Industry 4.0” raised by Germany and “Made in China 2025”, are offering new ideas to the global industrial development and the beverage and liquid food technology in China.
3) Cooperation with Strong Partners
The organizers of CBB – China National United Equipment Group Co., Ltd., China Light Industry Machinery Association and Messe Munich – will further extend their cooperation with industry associations in China using their experience and international networks to make CBB more international as well as more service- and customer-oriented.
CBB 2016 will be promoted worldwide and the organizers will further extend their partnership with industry association s and large beverage and liquid food enterprise groups to recruit international visitors to the exhibition. The high-end industry events taking place along with the trade show will attract buyer groups from other countries and districts, making CBB 2016 a must-go for the industry.

The preparations for CBB 2016 have already started and received very positive feedback from the industry. Among local exhibitors that have already applied are Guangdong Xinglian, Jiangsu Jinrong and Beijing YCTD and many more. 129 overseas exhibitors and joint-ventures have registered, occupying over 6,000 square meters. 5) New Highlights and Advantages of CBB 2016
CBB 2016 is moving to Shanghai, the economic core of China, and intends to use the advantage of a strong economy and industry to influence the Asian-Pacific region as well as other parts of the world. CBB is determined to improve its international services and attract more exhibitors and visitors worldwide. CBB 2016 intends to be once more the platform for the beverage and liquid food industry as well as the packaging industry – the place to meet customers, to exchange with experts, to see the latest trends and technologies and to intensify the strong bonds to the Chinese economy.
For the first time ever, international participation matched that of local exhibitors – an impressive total number of 1,919 exhibitors took part in this year’s show of which a strong international representation of 955 were from Europe, North and South America North and South Asia and Southeast Asia. New country groups like Chile, India, Indonesia, Norway and Cambodia were also added to the mix, leading to an increase of exhibition space totaling 80,000 sq.m. across seven halls.
One significant success story was from an exhibitor at the new Indonesia Country Pavilion who secured on-the-spot orders from China and South Korea for an impressive 35 containers of kerupuk (popular Indonesian prawn and fish crackers) at a total order value of US$ 950,000. Indonesian seafood exporters were also able to clinch deals with international buyers from the EU, US, Mexico and Thailand.
